Desiree Burch – How to be funny AF

Californian-born comic Desiree has a degree in theatre from Yale. She moved to New York to follow her acting dream, working as a dominatrix for a while to fund it, before moving to the UK.

Since exploding onto the UK comedy scene after winning the 2015 Funny Women Award, Desiree has firmly established herself as one of the UK’s break-out comedy stars.

She has appeared on a string of shows here, such as Live at the Apollo, Taskmaster, Have I Got News For You, Qi, 8 Out of 10 Cats, Mock The Week, Insert Name Here, Frankie Boyle’s New World Order. She also 'hosts Netflix show Flinch, and is the voice of Too Hot to Handle.'

Come spend a few days in the Worcestershire countryside learning the art of being funny AF with this comic hero.

Desiree will teach guests how to develop an idea (whether they are complete newbies, or have previously tried stuff and want to improve), build on performance (taking it from page to stage), and then finally help guests add layers to deliver it on stage, and to walk away feeling confident enough to put it out there (if they so choose!)

Fee includes accommodation in shared or solo room in grade two listed riverside house, three meals a day plus drinks, snacks and wine, plus materials and expert guidance from our inimitable tutor Desiree Burch.
