Need to knows

Rooms and beds

We have six bedrooms, some solo and some sharing. The set up is like this:

The blue room (king, furthest from bathroom)

The mail room (king with cot, second furthest from bathroom)

The mannequin room (king & en suite bathroom)

The nursery (small single room, next to bathroom)

The map room (single room downstairs, next to toilet)

The family room (One king and two singles, en suite bathroom)

Other rooms

We have a large kitchen with Aga, marble breakfast bar and farmhouse table (due to costs the Aga is currently switched off but there’s an electric cooker too).

The lounge has a wood-burning stove, two sofas and two armchairs, and a TV with chromecast.

The ‘library’ (doesn’t have many books yet!) is a great teaching space for yoga, drawing classes etc. There’s a big flatscreen TV for presentations etc. Note the sofa and armchairs can be moved out of that room depending on needs.

Parking

There’s room for around 6 cars on the drive, more can go at the end of the lane, or if needed more parking can be arranged with a neighbouring vicarage field. Please note the house is up a hill from the parking area and drive.

Noise

Though we welcome events and even boutique weddings, we ask for no loud music after 10pm and music off entirely at 11pm due to our proximity to the lovely neighbours.

Hosting your own retreat

How does sharing at retreats work?

Most people attend our retreats alone but sharing is a cost-effective way to attend. You can request to share with the same gender and choose from a king or single dependant on availability. Generally booking is first come first served.

Can partners come to retreats?

Absolutely, it’s a great area for exploring the countryside, the Cotswolds, and the river is at the end of the garden if they like boating or fishing. They’ll obviously not pay the full price as they won’t be doing the learning part… email me and we can work that out.

Course schedules

All courses will vary, but generally here’s how they’ll work:

  • Breakfast 8am

  • First session 9-11am

  • Break 11-11.30am

  • Second session 11.30-1pm

  • Lunch 1-2pm

  • Third session 2-4pm

  • Free time 4-7pm

  • Dinner 7pm

Retreat food & drink

A typical day’s food and drink might be:

Breakfast

  • Pastries / fruit and yoghurt / smoothie bowls or Shakshuka or breakfast naans. Teas & Coffees.

Break

  • Hot and cold drinks and a snack, like a little savoury pastry or cake.

Lunch

  • Soup and breads, toasties, salads and drinks

Dinner

  • Something hearty and substantial with wine!

We’ll 100% accommodate dietary requirements and hard hates so just let us know.

You’re welcome to bring G&T, more wine, beer etc and store it in my fridge, as I only provide wine with dinner. There are shops locally with a farm shop and Nisa close-by. There’s also a local pub that’s five minutes walk away that’s got open fires and is very cheap and cheerful. Though most people stay for after dinner drinks in the house or garden on warmer evenings.

What to wear/bring

Though a lot of time is spent in the house and garden, there also may be a little excursion somewhere Cotswoldish and cute, or historic and fascinating (relevant to the course!) but it could be pottering around a village, walking up a hill or taking a boat trip down the river. So bring outdoors clothing. And if you have mobility issues or any disabilities we can plan around that so just let me know.

Can dogs come?

In some cases yes, if they are very friendly and there’s nobody with allergies in the group. Email to discuss.

Arrivals and departures

Most courses begin with arrivals from 5pm the night before, and end at 5pm ish on the final day. We can collect and deliver people froma nd to Evesham train station just let us know times.
